Les Saisons
This art represents everything I miss, everything I can no longer experience because of severe ME. Creating these pieces took a lot from me, both physically and emotionally. Living with severe ME means that even small movements can lead to extreme exhaustion, so each stroke comes with a cost. Some days my body doesn’t allow me to draw at all, and on others, I can only manage brief moments before fatigue overwhelms me. Despite this, art has become a way for me to reclaim a bit of freedom, to convey feelings and memories of what I can no longer live. Through each piece, I tried to capture fragments of life, glimpses of seasons, and sensations that are now out of reach.
Spring
With the trees blossoming, birds singing, butterflies dancing, and the scent of fresh grass in the air…
All those things we can no longer smell.
Summer
Under the sun’s warmth, with the ocean stretching endlessly and the waves lapping the shore…
All those sensations we can no longer feel.
Autumn
As leaves fall and the air turns crisp, with Halloween decorations appearing and the sweetness of candy lingering…
All those flavors we can no longer taste.
Winter
Snow blankets the mountaintops, clouds gather low, and the sky glows dark yet serene…
All the beauty we can no longer see.
But even in the depths of the bed, in the deepest shades of darkness, surrounded by mist and clouds…
There are still glimpses of happiness and beams of sunlight that we can hold onto.
