Alicia Pallenchier

My name is Alicia, I’m 28, and I live in France. I spend 99% of the time in bed suffering, but on special occasions I’m able to sit in my wheelchair for a moment, like in this picture that was taken on my birthday. I discovered digital drawing about a year ago, an activity I can pursue from my bed with my tablet. Inspired by photos of myself or other things that inspire or move me, I trace my emotions with my stylus, without claiming to be a skilled artist. Through drawing, I aim to express everything that illness has taken away, all the experiences we can no longer live. For me, drawing is a way to translate my feelings and give life to my inner world and thoughts.
